You Can Help the Coach!

A successful coach-parent partnership is critical in creating a positive environment on your child's team. Support the coach by focusing on

character development and trying to get the best from players on the team. When things go wrong, here are some ways you can help:

• Develop healthy character traits
  • Tell your child you love him and are proud of him no matter how he performs
  • Ask her to talk about her favorite part of the most recent practice or game
  • Ask him for one idea he could implement that would make the coach's job easier
  • Ask her what one thing she could do at the next practice or game to be a better teammate

• Reinforce resiliency, determination and a can-do attitude
